Cashews are kidney-shaped seeds sourced from the cashew tree (Anacardium occidentale), native to northeastern Brazil but widely grown in tropical regions worldwide, including India, Vietnam, and Africa. Unlike most nuts, cashews grow at the bottom of the cashew apple, a pseudo-fruit produced by the tree.
